Pathway-specific research benefits

  • Enroll in up to two supervised projects simultaneously, subject to eligibility and a manageable workload. A suitable assignment is guaranteed, not a place in two specific projects.
  • microscopIA covers approved manuscript publication fees within the agreed project scope.
  • Recognition in the microscopIA member directory within seven calendar days after membership activation. Affiliation with the microscopIA group registered with the Colombian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MinCiencias) is available only after three months of membership and completion of at least one project, subject to verified contributions, consent and registry requirements. This does not confer an automatic government researcher classification.
  • Two 30-minute career-planning sessions per active membership month

Pathway-specific research benefits

  • Propose a hosted research group with an approved structured plan, defined resources and a dedicated project team.
  • Propose one systematic review with meta-analysis, scoping review or narrative review every two consecutive active membership months and lead approved work as principal investigator; first authorship requires substantive leadership and qualifying authorship contributions.
  • Propose a case report every two active months, subject to scientific approval and member project fees. Existing accepted benefits remain protected.
  • Propose original research every three active months, subject to scientific approval and member project fees. Membership does not make new projects free.
  • Apply as a senior expert or author to governed research, AI and innovation projects, with significant contributions.
Compare the complete benefits
  • Expert preparation support for up to two academic-event abstracts per month, at no additional service fee.
  • 30% off eligible microscopIA publication-support fees for external projects.
  • Institutional participation certificates are available from membership month 3, after verification of active membership and documented work. Reference letters remain discretionary and follow the separate continuity requirements.

Membership supports staff, supervision and approved publication costs. It does not purchase authorship, clinical eligibility, journal acceptance or unlimited personnel and funding. Monthly sessions are personal, non-transferable and do not roll over.

microscopIA Network

Your membership keeps the work moving.

Monthly fees help pay staff and operating costs, sustain research and innovation, cover approved publication fees and reinvest in community programs such as mental-health access. Authorship follows your contribution; scientific decisions remain independent of payment.

Publication support, with a clear route

The ability to pay should not be what determines whether valuable scientific work can reach publication. We assess support within the programme’s conditions.

≥50%of authors with active paid membership
01

Scientific quality

Rigorous execution and verifiable methods; completed work is assessed.

02

Transparent authorship

Authors, contributions, member percentage, microscopIA and external affiliations.

03

Agreed collaboration

microscopIA corresponding author and written support scope.

Support requirements and conditions

For this member-initiated review route, at least 50% of all genuine authors must be microscopIA Network members with active paid membership. Exactly 50% qualifies for assessment (5 of 10); 3 of 5 is 60%. Memberships are verified during assessment and before funding authorization.

Support depends on high-quality execution and scientific assessment of your question, methods and work completed. Manuscript support and publication-cost support are separate decisions, with scope and covered costs confirmed in writing before expenses are incurred.

Report microscopIA Network members with active paid membership as a percentage of all genuine authors: active members ÷ total authors × 100. The 50% requirement uses the exact counts, not a rounded percentage.

List every author, scientific contributions and all actual affiliations: microscopIA department or group where applicable, plus external institutions, departments, cities and countries. Membership and institutional affiliation are verified separately.

For an approved collaboration, a qualifying microscopIA researcher retains the corresponding-author role, with real scientific contributions, accountability, all-author agreement and compliance with journal rules.

microscopIA assesses applicable open-access agreements through the corresponding author’s genuine, verifiable affiliations. The publisher and participating institution must confirm eligibility and coverage; no agreement or fee waiver is guaranteed.

Prepare your review question and type, protocol or registration if available, methods, evidence of progress, author list and contributions, total authors and active-member count. Indicate the support needed and any proposed journal or fee estimate; these may be unknown.

Authorship follows actual scientific contributions. Do not add authors to meet the threshold. A request does not guarantee support, journal acceptance or publication.

Approved work within microscopIA

For approved projects developed within microscopIA, the organization may cover the agreed publication costs under the applicable programme conditions. Existing written commitments to cover approved charges remain in force.

Clinicians & Investigators · collaborative reviews

As an experienced Clinicians & Investigators member, propose a systematic review or meta-analysis with the microscopIA network and request open-access publication-cost support when MORE THAN 30% of the qualifying authors have a verified active microscopIA affiliation.

The threshold allows a support request; it does not automatically grant funding. Scientific review and written approval must confirm the journal, covered amount, exclusions and payment procedure before costs are incurred. Membership alone does not establish affiliation or authorship. Affiliations must be genuine and authorship follows actual contributions. Journal acceptance is independent.

Publication-cost support is distinct from membership subscriptions, project fees and accelerated preparation. Clinical-call fees remain applicable unless a written agreement expressly changes them.

3 of 10 is exactly 30% and does not qualify. 4 of 10 exceeds 30%. Counts are preliminary and subject to verification.

Your professional research allowance

New case-report and original-research proposals use member project rates or standard nonmember rates (3×). Membership is a separate recurring subscription, not free project execution. No additional 30% discount stacks with these call rates. Existing accepted benefits and signed agreements are preserved; no retrospective charges. Scientific approval, organized authorized inputs and written scope are required. Students & Young Professionals cannot lead these calls. The AI image collaboration retains its separate member-only eligibility and commercial terms.

Evidence reviews retain their included two-month benefit, subject to approval. Case-report and original-study periods are proposal windows with separate project fees; they do not guarantee acceptance or publication.

Terms and coverage →

Allowance frequency and preparation time are different.

Reviews and meta-analyses
3–4 months to prepare the manuscript
Case reports
Up to 8 weeks to prepare the manuscript
Original investigations
Up to 8 weeks to prepare the manuscript

Preparation follows scientific approval and activation with complete authorized inputs. The written scope records the start date, materials, milestones and any agreed changes. Journal review, acceptance and publication take additional independent time.

Explore accelerated preparation →

The simulator offers accelerated and preferential preparation targets, subject to feasibility and a separate written agreement. Its commercial estimate is not automatically a supplement for an included benefit: coordination must reconcile the included work first. No duplicate charge; no accelerated journal decision is promised.

ACADEMIC PATHWAYS

From joining to contributing.

Your next steps are clear. Activation, your researcher profile and the project application are separate stages.

  1. Choose your pathway

Review benefits, availability and participation terms before activation.

  2. Confirm your placement

Share your background, interests and availability. Members receive their selected project or a suitable alternative.

  3. Contribute with support

Agree tasks, supervision, milestones and contribution records. Project approval and required permissions come before execution.

Before you join

Is my first-choice project guaranteed?

No. Members are guaranteed a suitable supervised assignment, either their selected project or an alternative appropriate to their background. External applicants follow the open-call selection process.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Cancel future renewal through your account or request assistance. Each active project is reviewed for handover or replacement. Cancellation does not erase qualifying contributions or earned authorship.

Does this include clinical care everywhere?

No. Mental-health appointments require suitability, consent, availability and authorization where you are located. Do not activate a paid plan solely for clinical sessions before confirming eligibility.

What if an included benefit is unavailable?

Contact the team for a dated resolution, appropriate alternative, extension, credit or refund assessment. Capacity limits do not remove the obligation to address an unavailable paid benefit.
