Led by Dr. Agamenón Quintero Villarreal, senior associate researcher at microscopIA, this initiative responds to his concern that valuable Colombian clinical experience too often remains unpublished. It supports clinicians while training new researchers.
Active society membership
Be an active member of a society listed by the Asociación Colombiana de Sociedades Científicas. Membership is verified during review.
Patient and institutional permission
Obtain written publication consent and authorization from the department or research office with authority to approve this collaboration.

What makes a case worth publishing?
A useful clinical lesson matters more than rarity alone. A strong proposal explains what readers will learn, why it adds to existing literature and whether the evidence can support the message.
A meaningful insight
An unusual presentation, diagnostic challenge, unexpected adverse event or carefully documented management strategy.
A credible clinical story
Clear diagnostic reasoning, a complete chronology, relevant images or tests and enough follow-up to discuss outcomes and limitations.
A responsible interpretation
Explain alternatives and uncertainty. A single case can generate a hypothesis but cannot establish effectiveness or causation.
Cases without permission, adequate documentation or a clear learning point may not be accepted. Do not perform new procedures or alter care to produce a report.

From your first email to journal submission.

Propose
Send a brief non-identifiable summary and explain the learning point. No records or attachments.

Review and agree
microscopIA reviews fit and confirms acceptance in writing before the deadline. Sign the required documents.

Build the manuscript
Transfer approved material securely. Guide two assigned participants with the microscopIA supervisor.

Approve and submit
The patient reviews permitted material, authors approve the final manuscript and the team agrees the journal.
We cover the publication pathway
For accepted programme cases, microscopIA provides scientific preparation, English-language writing and editorial coordination free of charge, and covers any publication fees at the agreed journal. We verify its PubMed coverage before submission.
Editorial acceptance, peer-review timing and indexing of the individual article remain independent outcomes, not guarantees.
Up to four treating clinicians + three contributors
The planned team has up to seven authors: up to four clinicians who treated the patient, followed by the two assigned participants and the microscopIA supervisor. Everyone must qualify through substantive work, manuscript review, final approval and accountability.
Order is agreed prospectively and checked against journal rules. No honorary authorship or removal of earned credit. The free clinician pathway is separate from membership conditions for Join a Project participants.
