ROP-2026.10.03-v2
ROP Observatory: membership terms
USD 150 per month · Approval before payment · Contribution-based authorship.
From proposal to execution
Every new research project, case report, case series or innovation proposal requires written approval from the corresponding Observatory Executive Director or research group principal investigator. Admission or membership does not replace this approval.
- Submit the aim, methods, proposed team, data, resources and expected outputs to the responsible scientific authority.
- The scientific authority reviews and approves the proposal, documenting its scope and conditions.
- Once approved, the Executive Director or principal investigator notifies microscopIA to initiate execution of the approved project.
- microscopIA coordinates responsibilities, staff, budget, milestones and data/IP agreements. Activities begin with the required ethics, institutional and regulatory permissions in place.
If leadership is vacant, microscopIA coordinates proposal intake and review; execution awaits approval from a formally designated scientific authority.
Protocols and collaboration agreementsInterim admission contact

Prepare a membership applicationEligibility and admission
Professional scientific membership for qualified ROP, neonatal eye-care, clinical, research and health-system experts.
Applications are free and assessed for expertise, scientific fit, feasibility, ethics, conflicts and capacity.
While the Executive Director appointment is pending, microscopIA coordinates applications and necessary clinical review through the Managing Director.
Membership and each project require separate written approval.
A decision or specific information request is communicated within 14 calendar days.

USD 150 per month, only after written approval.
Approved applicants receive activation instructions and must confirm the plan identity, currency, recurring total and cancellation terms.
There is no payment requirement while an application is pending.

Project execution and publication support
A case-report or case-series development pathway is available every two active membership months.
Approved ROP manuscripts receive microscopIA publication-fee support within the agreed scope and budget.
Review proposals require scientific approval, staff allocation, milestones and an execution commitment.
