From proposal to execution
Every new research project, case report, case series or innovation proposal requires written approval from the corresponding Observatory Executive Director or research group principal investigator. Admission or membership does not replace this approval.
- Submit the aim, methods, proposed team, data, resources and expected outputs to the responsible scientific authority.
- The scientific authority reviews and approves the proposal, documenting its scope and conditions.
- Once approved, the Executive Director or principal investigator notifies microscopIA to initiate execution of the approved project.
- microscopIA coordinates responsibilities, staff, budget, milestones and data/IP agreements. Activities begin with the required ethics, institutional and regulatory permissions in place.
If leadership is vacant, microscopIA coordinates proposal intake and review; execution awaits approval from a formally designated scientific authority.
Protocols and collaboration agreementsWho this membership is for
A professional scientific membership administered by microscopIA SAS for qualified clinicians, investigators, policy professionals and other critical-care experts. It is not a student placement, clinical credential, employment contract or automatic admission to every project.
Observer applications are assessed for this professional membership; application itself carries no fee or entitlement.
Approval and scientific review
Submit applications through the official Google form; signing in to a Google account is required. The Executive Director oversees admissions under the Membership and Scientific Committee framework.
Membership and individual research proposals require separate written approval. Decisions consider expertise, scientific relevance, feasibility, ethics, conflicts of interest and execution capacity.
The applicant receives a decision or a specific request for missing information within 14 calendar days of receiving the form submission. Membership cannot be obtained by paying first.
Reviewers must disclose conflicts and avoid deciding applications where they cannot act impartially. Ask the director for reasons or reconsideration; administrative concerns can be raised with the Managing Director.
Price, activation and renewal
USD 150 per month after written approval. No application fee or pre-approval charge is authorized.
Activation takes place through the plan named Global Critical Care Observatory on microscopiatech.com using the instructions supplied after approval. Before paying, review the merchant, total, currency, taxes and monthly renewal conditions.
Benefits begin after approved activation and payment verification, not when a checkout page is opened. Do not purchase a second Research Elite subscription for included benefits; contact support to coordinate an existing plan and avoid duplicate billing.
A payment made without approval must be reported to finance@microscopiatech.com for review and reversal or refund as applicable; it does not confer admission.
Research delivery and publication support
Each two active membership months includes one case-report or case-series development pathway toward publication within the microscopIA Network, provided a scientifically suitable case and lawful consent/data access are available. This is a development and submission commitment, not a guarantee of journal acceptance or publication within two months.
If a suitable case is unavailable, agree the next project and timetable in writing. microscopIA covers publication fees for approved Observatory outputs under the approved journal and publication plan; members must not incur unapproved charges. The member can propose a systematic review with meta-analysis where scientifically appropriate.
Approval records the staff, methods, milestones, budget and execution capacity microscopIA will provide. Funding is project-specific, not an unlimited personal research grant.
Affiliation, profiles and certificates
Active approved members may use “Global Critical Care Observatory, microscopIA, Bogotá, Colombia” for authorized Observatory work, with accurate external affiliations and institutional permissions. This does not confer authority to speak for microscopIA or use its brand commercially. microscopIA maintains verified researcher profiles and issues certificates describing actual membership or contributions.
Assistance with eligible CvLAC/GrupLAC registration and group linkage is included, subject to the researcher’s consent, accurate records and platform rules. MinCiencias alone determines official recognition and category; no government classification or certification is sold or guaranteed.
Included benefits and external projects
All Research Elite benefits are included under their current booking, eligibility, capacity and service terms. They do not override clinical authorization, educational assessment or safety requirements.
Participation in community pilots, AI, devices and innovation requires project eligibility, ethics/regulatory approvals and written data/IP arrangements. For a member’s projects outside the Observatory, all microscopIA service fees receive a 50% discount during active membership, shown in a written quote.
Taxes and independently charged third-party costs are separately identified; discounts do not stack and are not cash credits.
Cancellation, problems and fair remedies
Cancel future renewal through the plan account or contact finance@microscopiatech.com before the next renewal. Request confirmation if the account control is unavailable.
Applicable cancellation, withdrawal, refund and consumer rights are preserved. Cancellation stops future benefits after the paid period, subject to any required legal remedy; it does not erase earned authorship or justify abandoning participant safety, data duties or approved work without a handover.
Agree continuity of ongoing projects and approved publication costs in writing. Report unavailable promised benefits, duplicate charges or errors promptly; microscopIA will assess an appropriate completion plan, correction, credit or refund.
No payment is required merely to retain authorship already earned.
Conduct, privacy and changes
Professional conduct, truthful credentials, confidentiality, research integrity and conflict disclosure are required. Serious breaches may justify proportionate suspension after notice and an opportunity to respond, except urgent restrictions needed to protect people or data.
Only necessary professional application information should be emailed; never include identifiable patient records. Project data use requires separate authorization.
Material price or benefit changes must be communicated before renewal; members may cancel rather than accept a new offer. These terms supplement the general terms and privacy policy without limiting mandatory local rights.
Voluntary support is separate from membership
The dedicated ICU Stripe link accepts a single voluntary contribution to the Observatory. Donations do not require membership and do not pay membership fees.
They do not purchase authorship, access to patient data, committee decisions or control of results. For recurring support, restricted gifts, institutional agreements or reporting requirements, contact philanthropy@microscopiatech.com before payment.
No charitable status or tax deduction is promised. Review the named payment recipient and retain the receipt.
General contribution terms at /terms/support also apply; agreed restrictions and lawful refunds or alternatives govern when an initiative cannot proceed. Public recognition requires permission.
