What each status means
With editor
An editor is assessing scope, quality, ethics, and whether to invite peer review.
Under review
Independent reviewers are evaluating the work. Timing varies and may take months.
Revision
The journal requested changes. microscopIA coordinates the response and invites author input.
Accepted
The journal formally accepted the manuscript; production and publication follow.
A first decision may take weeks or months. Revisions and new submission rounds can extend the pathway. microscopIA may improve and submit sequentially to as many as five suitable PubMed-indexed journals. Acceptance is never guaranteed.
OUTCOME-SPECIFIC STATUS
Progress means something different for every kind of work.
The public register uses the correct vocabulary for the intended outcome. A stage never implies approval, safety, effectiveness, acceptance, or impact before the corresponding independent decision.

Preprints are labelled not peer reviewed; journal decisions remain independent.
02Devices & patents

Need → requirements → concept → prototype → bench verification → filing → validation → regulatory pathway
A prototype is not a cleared device; filing is not a patent grant; funding never determines inventorship.
03Clinical AI

Intended use → data authority → development → locked validation → external evaluation → controlled deployment → monitoring
Models remain investigational until the applicable validation, institutional and regulatory gates are complete.
04Community implementation

Need → co-design → approvals → pilot → monitoring → evaluation → adapt, scale or stop
Participation, feasibility and outcomes are reported separately; no health result is guaranteed.
05Policy, Delphi & consensus
