The Global Research Support Fellowship is project-level support for eligible low-income-economy research. It is distinct from the microscopIA Fellows Program for talent development and is not employment, a cash award or a guarantee of publication.
Up to 20 projects may be supported per month. microscopIA may select fewer, pause intake, waitlist or decline when scientific, ethical, operational or funding capacity is insufficient.
Review considers scientific quality, feasibility, ethics readiness, data readiness, potential impact, data provenance, reproducibility, conflicts, required expertise and microscopIA capacity. Eligibility does not guarantee selection.
Original research requires applicable ethics approval or formal exemption and a curated, de-identified, analysis-ready database with a codebook. Do not upload patient identifiers or restricted research files through a public application.
The accepted written scope may include methods, analysis, interpretation, visualization, manuscript preparation, journal strategy, submission coordination, revision support and eligible approved publication charges.
Payment, funding, professional title or network participation never confers authorship. Every author must make a qualifying contribution, review and approve the final manuscript, and accept accountability. Non-author contributors may be acknowledged.
Supporters cannot choose authors, suppress findings, control methods or statistics, dictate conclusions, or control publication. Funding and competing interests are disclosed where applicable.
Source-data owners retain ownership and control unless a project-specific agreement states otherwise. microscopIA receives only the rights needed for the agreed work. No unrelated secondary use occurs without authorization.
Journals, editors, reviewers, ethics bodies, institutions and regulators remain independent. microscopIA does not guarantee project selection, journal acceptance, indexing, citation or a clinical or policy outcome.
No project begins until the applicable agreement, terms, confidentiality and data-governance documentation, authorship and conflict declarations, required ethics or consent documents, usable materials and any stated activation requirements are complete.
